Our Farm

Rooted in the land. Guided by nature.

A place where sheep graze, flowers grow and the rhythms of the seasons shape the way we live and work. Welcome to MorningStar Woollen.

Hello there!

I'm so glad you've found your way to MorningStar! Thank you for taking an interest in my little piece of the world and the work I'm so passionate about.

MorningStar Woollen Farm is the realization of a lifelong dream … to live and work on the land, creating a life rooted in nature, creativity and connection.

My journey has taken me from working as a technical designer with Arc'teryx and Patagonia to teaching handwork at the Vancouver Waldorf School, where I deepened my appreciation for traditional skills, natural materials and the beauty of making things by hand.

Today, as a certified regenerative farmer, I bring these experiences together through raising sheep, growing flowers and working with fibre. I'm continually learning from the land, guided by a desire to nurture rather than deplete, and to work with nature rather than against it.

MorningStar Woollen Farm is where my passions have found a home. My hope is to share the beauty, abundance and simple joys of farm life, inspiring others to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.

The Land

Nestled in the Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island, MorningStar Woollen is a 70-acre farm shaped by open fields, surrounding forests and the changing seasons.

The land is more than the place where we farm. It is the foundation of everything we do.

We are continually learning from it, caring for it and finding ways to give back more than we take.

The Living Farm

MorningStar is a working farm where sheep, wool, flowers, soil and people are part of a larger living system.

Our sheep provide beautiful natural fibre. Our flower fields bring colour, beauty and biodiversity. And the everyday work of tending animals, growing plants and caring for the land brings it all together. Nothing exists entirely on its own.

Each part of the farm has a role to play, and together they create something greater.

Our approach

Care is at the heart of what we do.

We believe farming is a relationship. With the soil beneath our feet, the animals in our care and the natural world around us.

Guided by regenerative principles, we seek to nurture healthy soil, encourage biodiversity and work with the rhythms of nature rather than against them.

It's an ongoing practice of observation, patience and thoughtful choices.

A way of farming that honours both what the land provides and what it needs to thrive.
